Pierce Brosnan Never Broke Free of Bonds

Ghost Writer‘s Pierce Brosnan never “nailed” James Bond.
The 56-year-old actor, who played the British spy in four installments of the movie franchise, feels his performances suffered because he couldn’t forget how previous actors had portrayed 007. Pierce - who took over the role from Timothy Dalton - explained:
“It was one of those things I always struggled with. I never felt that I really nailed it. There was always a hint of Sean Connery and Roger Moore that was so indelible in my own mind.”
The Hollywood star also says he knew that the script for Tomorrow Never Dies - his second outing as Bond - was not as good as many had hoped it would be: “When I did Tomorrow Never Dies I knew the movie wasn’t up to speed, it wasn’t as good as Goldeneye.”
However, he is still glad he had the opportunity to play the iconic movie character.

Lady Gaga has has been asked to submit a track for the next James Bond film.
“The Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She’s a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level.”
If Gaga is chosen to record the title track, she would be following in the footsteps of her idol Madonna, who recorded the main song for Die Another Day. (She also had a cameo in the film.) That song, “Die Another Day,” went on to become one of the most successful themes in the series’ history.

Pierce Brosnan on the Modernized James Bond
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip,
Pierce Brosnan, who played James Bond in four of the spy movies, believes the iconic character has changed dramatically since his successor took over the role.
“It’s totally changed since Daniel Craig is playing it. They wanted to modernize Bond. I didn’t stop voluntarily,” the 56-year-old actor said. “We talked about a fifth movie and then came the call that I am out. Total change of direction. That was very hard.”
Although he was upset to be axed from the action franchise, Pierce claims that since his last Bond outing in 2002’s Die Another Day, his career has changed for the better. “So much the better how my career evolved. But being an actor is only my second career choice. Primarily I am a father,” he told website Kurier.at.
Despite his thoughts on the role, Pierce hasn’t even watched Craig in action. “I haven’t seen Daniel in the role. I tried watching it on an airplane. I thought 37,000 feet was a good distance to watch it from and it broke down right at the beginning,” he recalled. “The attendant came and changed it and it broke down a second time, so I figured, ‘OK. The Gods must be saying something…’ So I never went near it!”
Brosnan’s next film, Remember Me with Robert Pattinson, opens on March 12.
